intensive 5-day projects class
Patty Gray $650 + $50 material fee (non-refundable)
September 14-18, Tue-Sat (10am- 5pm)
This course will focus on developing strong design processes with emphasis on larger scale Triptych Formats (3-piece panels) as well as bowls and plates. By exploring fundamental principles of design and new techniques, each student will transform his/her vision into a rich composition. Patty will excite your imagination with ideas, demonstrations and information on various fusing and kiln–forming techniques that can then be applied to your individual projects. Explore techniques to create depth and surface design elements using frits, powders, stringers, powder wafers, metals, mica powders, irids and dichroic glass. She will cover pattern bars, high fire projects, combing and manipulating glass in the kiln, working with mosaics, pot melts/pours, vitrograph, bas relief and frit cast objects for inclusion into the final project. Many options for surface decoration will be covered.
Intermediate to advanced level.
