BEYOND BEGINNER FUSING: FUSING WITH FRIT

Take your “technique tool box” to the next level! This class will incorporate various frit techniques to produce a final, 10” x 10”, project. We will explore cold combing, frit cookies, shading, positive and negative stenciling, vein-work and texture as
appropriate to your specific piece. You are welcome to bring your sketch book ideas and photo clippings. Students are expected to have a basic understanding of glass fusing and experience using transparent and opal colors.

BEYOND BEGINNER FUSING: KILN CASTING

Kiln Casting is easy and lots of fun! Join us in an exploration of two techniques: creation of a cast glass “positive” and its “negative space” companion cast into a glass block. (Both techniques use the same clay positive.) New
techniques will be introduced that simplify and augment both traditional plaster investment casting and “box” casting. No prior experience with casting is required. Students should have a basic understanding of glass fusing.
