Rentals
STUDIO RENTAL
EGS Membership offers you the opportunity to rent shop time
at drastically reduced rates! Three of our studios are now
available for rent to Members and the general public. Including
one of the only hot shops available for rent in the state
of Oregon, our shared studio areas create a stimulating environment
for resident and visiting artists to collaborate with fellow
glass artists. By sharing ideas and concepts and collaborating
on artistic creations, the open structure of our facility
was designed to offer a fertile learning environment for all.
In addition, we frequently host artists who arrive from all
over the Pacific Northwest and beyond, to attend our workshops

FUSING
Member: Free
Non-Member: N/A (Renter must become a Member)
Firing Fees: Will be based upon firing cycle
- Renter supplies own glass and tools
(Sheet glass is also for sale at the school)
- No casting in the fuse shop
- Firing schedules longer than 24 hours to be negotiated
individually*
*Shop technician will fire when the kiln is full; however,
artists may negotiate with the shop technician for
specialized firing programs or for individual firings.
Artist may negotiate prices if multiple firings are nec-
essary.
FLAME SHOP
Member: $8/hour National torch rental
Non-Member: $16/hour National torch rental
Member: $10/hour Major/Minor torch rental
Non-Member: $20/hour Minor torch rental
Member: $12/hour Carlisle torch rental
Non-Member: $24/hour Carlisle torch rental
- Renter supplies own glass and tools
- Tool Kits are available free for rental
(include borosilicate rated dydimiums)
HOT SHOP
Member: $40 per hour OR Special $35 Member Rate for
pre-paid purchases of 20 hours or more **
Non-Member: $50 per hour**
Glass Fees:
Member:$1.75 per pound.
Non-Member: $2.75 per pound.
- $5 per hour for use of garage. $5 per every 2 hours use
of hot torch.
- Members Standard Student tool package included in
rental fee: basic diamond shears, straight tweezers,
jacks, pipes, punties, and paddles. Renter supplies their
own color. Non-Members pay $10.
** Each time slot includes time at the furnace, a student
glory hole and annealing kiln space.
There is a 3 hour minimum in the flame shop and a 4 hour
minimum for hot shop rental. All rentals must be prear-
ranged at least 24 hours in advance.
Shop rates are subject to change based upon material and
energy costs.
